News 2nd May 2026
Details of New music this month, the current schedule of playlists (the default between specific playlists is a random selection from all available tracks) and some changes to the website.
Firstly an important item - we are approaching a financial crunch as the PRS and PPL licences fall due. We will be launching an appeal specifically to cover these costs later this month with some extra encouragement thrown in. Details will be in the next Wreckers Radio email (probably not until I am back from an Irish road trip in mid-May, RCO) .
In the meantime you can, of course, buy us a coffee to keep us going.

New music this week:
Full Albums - for local artists we'll usually include the ful album, for visitors it dependsl
- Fable - An Tir Orth Penn (The Land at the End) - this lovely duo from mid Cornwall desrve a wider audience
- Fairport Convention - Roadworks - still touring after all these years, this is a live recording from their Autumn 2025 tour. Back with Dave Mattacks as a 5 piece giving a more Folk-Rock feel.
- Police Dog Hogan - Westward Ho! - a very definitely westcountry themed album although the band are based in the metropolis.
- Seize the Day - The Tide is Turning - protest folk group based in Somerset - voted winners of the BBC Folk Awards 2004, then disqualified by BBC for being political. No longer touring.
Selected tracks from albums. If an artist is prolific then we'll often select our favourites from their catalog, or if there are particular songs which are relveant to us West-the-Exe we'll selected those.
- Seize the Day - Alive - selected protest songs off this live double album
whoops - this one didn't get published until 2 weeks late. My mistake, RogerCO
