Wreckers Radio broadcasts from the Launceston in the Borderlands between the moors. Hence our focus is all music West-the-Exe. We also run Cornwall Folk Radio which will soon (ie drekly) be broadcasting a Cornwall Only selection as a separate mix. And maybe one day we'll launch a Devon Folk Radio which will only play music from between the Exe and the Tamar.
Wreckers Radio showcases and supports independent (or independently produced) music across genres, with a focus on all music created in Cornwall & Devon, West of the Exe. We also want to support local independent venues in the region and will be happy to publicise your events - keep music live!
We are always interested in hearing new music and playing it on Wreckers Radio. If you are an artist, label or promoter who would love to hear your music on Wreckers Radio please send us an email to
Wreckers Radio is totally run by a small collective of volunteers who give their time freely and also provide the core funding. Being based in North East Cornwall (almost Devon!) we are firmly in the Borderlands straddling the River Tamar and are often on the periphery for funding from Truro and Exeter. Wherever you are you can help us keep music alive by using the donate button ---->
It would not be possible to run Wreckers.Radio without the support of our lovely sponsors:

Cornwall Folk Festival runs annually in Wadebridge over the late summer bank holiday weekend. It features People’s Music (ie Folk Music) from Cornwall and further afield with local musicians breaking through and supporting higher profile acts. Read all about this years festival and book tickets on the website.
Wreckers Radio will again be broadcasting live from the FAR stage featuring all the music as well as interviews and podcasts with the performers.
Launceston Folk Club is based in Launceston and organised by the the incredibly energetic Emma Jaynes. It presents a mix of high profile acts, regional stars, and emerging local talent. As well as major gigs, monthly open folk nights and songwriters sessions are well attended.
The local songwriters’ spotlight is on the 3rd Weds of the month, and folk jam falls on the 1st Weds. Both are at Keep Audio Cafe as well as adhoc workshops by visiting musicians. We draw on local talent for concert support slots.
“Folk” for us is much more than beards and sandals – it’s any music that is made by people in, and about, their communities.

Adept Living Foundation, based in Launceston, is a peer led, grassroots, community organisation that supports those struggling with emotional distress caused by trauma, PTSD, life stress, or ill health to recover; find purposeful occupation; and become thriving members of their local communities. Music plays a key part.
Wreckers.Radio comes under the Wreckers Music umbrella which covers live events, and musician support/management as well as the radio station, and provides a place for those involved in the live music scene in Cornwall & Devon to cooperate together.
All of the above provide resources to help run the station. Currently the actual costs (mostly server rental and licencing which total about £2000 a year) are mostly covered by the volunteers from their own pockets.
