Music from West-the-Exe

Supporting local musicians and venues with live music from, or about, or played "West-the-Exe" (ie Cornwall & most of Devon)

Any genre so long as local folk are involved!

Emma's weekly Whats On programme is bedding in nicely. It goes out every Sunday at 6pm, and is repeated on Monday and Tuesday at 10:30am and 6:30pm. It is also available to Listen Again on the Whats On page from 7pm on Monday.

It provides a roundup of all gigs and sessions featuring local musicians (and occassionally visitors) over the coming three weeks (and beyond if there is space). Includes clips of their music and is followed by a half hour of complete tracks by those mentioned (in date order)

If you are an artists or venue West of the Exe then be sure to let us know of your coming events either on social media or by filling in the Contact From before Friday 6pm.

New material playing now on Wreckers Radio this week includes:

  • Liam Kinsley - a fresh new voice from Cornwall. Liam is still too young to buy his own pint, but is a highly talented singer-songwriter from Lostwithiel.
  • Kello - another new young Cornish voice from the far west making beautiful music
  • The Sound of Sirens - from the opposite end of the region in Exeter (technically not West-theExe then? Ed.)Sound of Sirens is Hannah and Abbe who've been performing together since 2011. Great stuff
  • Salt &Sky a dynamic Cornish folk band known for their infectious energy, rich cultural roots, and irresistible sense of fun.

New trackers are given higher priority in the selection so you should hear one about every 6 songs. New local artists stay in the featured list for a couple of months, established artists from elsewhere (I'm looking at you Bobby Dylan!) will have newly added tracks featured only for a week or so.
