Now some news from Wreckers Radio
At long last here is a first newsletter from Wreckers Radio. These will go out about monthly and will list new music that has been added to the main playlist during the month together with update on programme & schedule changes, and other relevant news.
Schedule Notes:
What's On Programme: The weekly roundup of coming gigs across the region goes out on Sunday at 6pm, repeated on Monday and Tuesday at 10:30am and 6:30pm. It is also available to listen to online as a Podcast from https://wreckers.radio/whatson. (The podcast version does not include the tracks from some of the mentioned artists which are played following the broadcast)
If you know of a local live gig coming up in the next 3 weeks in Cornwall or Devon do let us know to include it either by direct email to
New Wreckers Slot: This goes out once a day for half an hour (except Sunday) starting a 7am on Monday and getting 3 hrs later each day till 10pm on Saturday. It runs for half an hour and features tracks added to Wreckers Radio in the last 4 weeks or so. The selection differs each day along with the time.
Elders & Classics Slot: Affectionately known as "The Old Gits Slot" (yes women can be old gits too) this is 30 mins featuring tracks recorded before 1990 (Roger wanted to make it before 1975, but he is an old git anyway, so 35 years old or more it is). It plays on alternate days at 9am or 3pm except Sunday. There's more than 12 hours of material in that list - so it takes 3 weeks plus to work through it all.
Featured Tracks: All the tracks in the library are in the general random rotation which plays when no programme is scheduled. Within that we pick some tracks that we currently like, or are topical, or new, or interesting, to be featured once every 15 songs. We try and keep less than 20 songs in that list so they should all get at least one play a day.
We have various other programme ideas in the pipeline, if you would like to suggest something or create a programme or playlist for a slot then do get in touch - email
