New Wreckers 10th September

New music added to wreckers this week. These albums/songs all appear in the general rotation and a random selection of these tracks is played every day at 7pm in the New Wreckers slot.

COMPLETE ALBUMS

  • Fairport Convention – Liege & Lief
The godfathers of British Folk-Rock are coming back to Cornwall after a long absence. Catch them at Launceston Folk club on 31st October and Perranporth on 1st November. Here we start with their 1969 classic (arguably the start of folk-rock) album. Soon to feature in our Classic Album podcast series.
  • Reg Meuros – Stolen From God
Another headliner from the 2024 Cornwall Folk Festival this is his new song cycle about the rise and demise of the Bristol slave trade. We think it is brilliant, and it will also appear in a forthcoming ‘Complete Sets’ feature in on Sunday afternoons on Wreckers.
  • Seth Lakeman – Tales From the Barrel House
Local (from the East bank of the Tamar) and national star Seth. We already have a couple of his albums in the rotation, but this is a more recent offering.
  • The Imagined Village – Special Limited Edition EP 2007
Imagined Village released their first album in 2007 – this is a EP remix of 4 of the tracks which was given away at the 2007 Womad Festival. Featuring Billy Brag, Eliza Carthy, and Transglobal Underground amongst others.
