The Known Complete Unknown

Just a quick note to highly recommend the new film “A Complete Unknown” which a dramatisation of Bob Dylan’s folk years from ’61 to ’65.

As a film it is brilliant; acting, direction, lighting, camera, sound, scene setting are all first class. But as a key to understanding why Dylan was so important, and why he still is, it an outstanding movie.

Timothée Chalamet plays the young Dylan perfectly and desrves to win the Oscar he is nominated for.

The songs from that “protest” era are as relevant today as they ever were – if you are over 70 you will remember some of this stuff and you should see the film to re-strike the spark of your youth.

If you are under 30 and think of Dylan as some old singer your grandparents liked then go to see it to get inspired and discover that you have the power inside yourself to change the times.

In between those ages you probably know some of the songs and have heard of some of the events but you need to see the film to learn that you too need lend a hand or get out of the way.

See it while you can.
